Downfall is a free fan made expansion for Slay the Spire that features one brand new normal character, and a new game mode with seven fully complete new characters that you will face in a twisted campaign. The Downfall game mode is where you will encounter these new Villains, which have a large card pool, relics, and potions just like any other character!

A new set of ‘Boss’ type cards, themed around the Spire’s Bosses, has been added. These are usually expensive, powerful cards that can be acquired at the Merchant to replace Colorless cards.

In addition, Downfall includes a wide number of Events, Curses, Daily Run Modifiers, and Custom Run Modifiers. For maximum mayhem, the Daily Run algorithm will choose a character at random from all Heroes and Villains, as well as whether the run will be a Downfall or Standard run.

All Villain characters can be enabled to play in Standard Mode using the Config Menu. As bosses, you’ll still have to face their usual equivalents.

The Hermit is a fully developed character with all of the features you’d expect from a playable hero in Slay the Spire. The full suite includes completely new character and card graphics, a simple but elegant card design, a couple of new mechanics, unlocks, class-specific relics, and potions.

As the Hermit, the order of the cards in your hand is crucial – Dead Cards in the middle of your hand earn bonus effects, so play or exhaust other cards first to get them into the center for maximum effect. Accept the darker side of the Spire and don’t be afraid of curses; with the correct loadout, they can be advantageous.

You can give this new fan made DLC by heading over to the Steam page and installing it for free!
