Ad Infinitum, a psychological horror and action-adventure game from developer Hekate and publisher Nacon, has just revealed a new pre-order gameplay trailer. It features the central WWI setting, as well as a variety of the unique monsters that players will need to understand and overcome.
Ad Infinitum is slated to launch on September 14th, 2023, and pre-orders are available now. It will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. You can watch today’s new trailer on Nacon’s official YouTube channel:
In a new tweet today, the Ad Infinitum feed also teased a “Nightmare Edition” of the game, which will include a digital art book and soundtrack in addition to the base game. While this edition doesn’t boast many components, the artwork in Ad Infinitum is a major highlight, with creative creatures and surreal imagery, and it’d be fun to explore the artistic process.
Ad Infinitum has continued to build a lot of buzz lately, despite being delayed until September in Nacon Connect 2023. Its psychological approach gives the enemy monsters legitimate motivations, and their art design is truly inventive. They look grotesque and bizarre enough to please any fan of the genre, but they also for good reason.
Players will also need to escape death traps, but the core premise of the game is about solving puzzles in order to confront and overcome a horrific past that haunts the protagonist.
It would’ve been nice to feel a little more dread in today’s trailer, which sort of sells Ad Infinitum as a more conventional horror survival game. Its themes are quite serious, and the Steam page even mentions the game will explore PTSD.
