Digimon fans got a welcome surprise this weekend as Digimon Survive, the franchise’s upcoming and long-awaited RPG, received a new gameplay. The gameplay was released during this year’s edition of Rulicon and is focused on a boss battle against a Dokugumon.
With that said, the new gameplay features not only a new and more profound look at some of the game’s mechanics but also a clear look at its now polished gameplay, as well as a glimpse at the moment that Takuma Momozuka’s, the game’s protagonist, partner Agumon evolves into Greymon.

In Digimon Survive, players will take on the role of Takuma Momozuka, a high school student who must take on arms and fight after he and a group of schoolmates get lost during a school trip and are transported to another dimension. The game promises to feature a ”darker tale about survival and friendship”, as well as a story where every choice will have dire consequences for all of those involved. As you could check out in the gameplay above, the game will be a tactical RPG with visual novel elements.
Digimon Survive will be released in celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary and was already subjected to four delays since it was announced in July 2018. You can check out the producer update in which the game’s producer Kazumasa Habu revealed the game’s newest and hopefully actual release date below, courtesy of Bandai Namco’s official Youtube Channel:
