Remedy Entertainment has released update 1.15 for Alan Wake 2, bringing highly requested features. The most significant addition is the Chapter Select function, which is probably the biggest request from players. This allows players to revisit and replay any mission they’ve already unlocked in the campaign and find anything they missed the first time around.
With the new chapter select, Remedy warned that players should also utilize manual saves if they want to enter specific parts of each chapter. You will likely only be able to start from the very beginning of the chapter, making you go through each part again, but it’s worth it for the ability to grab everything you missed.
The developer has confirmed in their update that you will still receive trophies and achievements if you go back to older chapters. There are no consequences to playing through the game to finish it and then returning to get your rewards.

Another new feature is the option to adjust the intensity of horror flashes. Players can now choose between “Low” and “Normal” intensity, tailoring the experience to their preferred level of scares. This addresses feedback from some players who found the original intensity had too many jump scares. This is good, as an overreliance on this kind of stuff makes it less appealing and feels cheap over time.
Obviously, there are regular technical fixes and gameplay improvements. Over 200 bug fixes are included, tackling various problems that could hinder progress or affect gameplay quality. The patch notes highlight fixes for mission-blocking bugs, animation glitches, and inventory-related issues. Things you’d expect from an update.
Now that the chapter select is back and you can adjust the jump scares, it’s the perfect time to get back into Alan Wake 2 and get any achievements or trophies you missed the first time.
