By switching the console’s region to New Zealand, players can normally access a game early, but will that work for Alan Wake 2? We’ll answer those questions on the game so you can know whether this is a waste of time or not.

If you like Alan Wake 2 and are excited, check out whether you can get a physical copy of Alan Wake 2, if it’s on Game Pass, and how long the game is.

Does the New Zealand Trick Work With Alan Wake 2?

Unfortunately, you cannot use the New Zealand trick with Alan Wake 2. Switching the console’s region will not do anything. Players in New Zealand will be able to play Alan Wake 2 simultaneously with everyone else around the world due to the global release.

Pre-loading the game in advance so that it is ready for your release time is your only option if you wish to get your hands on the game as soon as possible. When your region releases the game, you’ll be able to play at once by pre-loading it early.

Since New Zealand has a different time zone than other countries, when a game launches at midnight around the world, people in New Zealand get access to it first. It’s important to check local release times since games don’t always appear at midnight. Alan Wake 2 is one of those games that still does a global release, so your best chance is Early Access, but the game may not support that.

We’d say to just wait patiently for the game to release and check out our countdown for the game so you can see exactly when it drops worldwide. Our countdowns are the most accurate around and we update it whenever times change. Hopefully, that and our other Alan Wake guides will keep you updated until the game releases.
