A new teaser trailer for the forthcoming first-person horror game Amnesia: The Bunker has just been released, showcasing some of the game’s significant gameplay mechanics.

Developer and publisher Frictional Games is set to provide another intense horror experience through their upcoming title, Amnesia: The Bunker. In this game, players will take on the role of a French soldier, named Henri Clément, left all alone in a desolate WW1 bunker. The bunker is hunted by an ever-present threat that reacts to Henri’s every movement and sound. As such, players must adapt their play style according to the situation as every action bears a consequence.

Frictional Games has been teasing details about Amnesia: The Bunker since it was announced back in December 2022. Despite this, the physical characteristics of the monsters have not been revealed explicitly. The only means of recognizing them is through the roaring sound that they create. In other trailers, the monster appeared as a dark presence that creeps up on the protagonist out of nowhere and covers his sight.

The latest trailer showcases an important gameplay mechanic in Amnesia: The Bunker that may help players in surviving and facing the monsters. As players find their way out of the bunker, they will often hear a roaring sound, hinting that the monster is nearby. Any loud noise will surely alert the monster and prompt it to chase the player instantly.

Meanwhile, some key items that are necessary for escaping the bunker can be blocked by rats. As such, players will have to get rid of them by throwing a grenade at their site to obtain the item. However, this will clearly make a loud noise and alert the monster, so players must be careful and prepare to run fast when they blow up rats in the bunker.

Amnesia: The Bunker is a promising horror game that could be on par with Frictional Studios’ other popular horror titles, such as Penumbra and previous Amnesia titles. The inclusion of multiple problem-solving tactics is surely one of its strengths, as it enables players to freely experiment with different strategies.

You may add Amnesia: The Bunker to your Steam wishlist now to be alerted when it is released on May 16th.
