Among Us VR, the virtual social deduction hit developed by Schell Games, Innersloth and Robot Teddy, will launch the Polus Point map on July 27th, 2023. The announcement coincided with a new gameplay teaser, showing off a variety of areas and tasks in the new map.

The new Polus Point map has been building hype since it was first announced in February, when fans hadn’t voted on its name yet. But there was only an especially brief glimpse of a room or two, and today’s teaser is filled with lots of key details.

It’s clear that Polus Point is going to have some devious areas. The lava pit is going to be a creative focal point, where it will be all too easy for players to take an unfortunate misstep. Polus Point will likely be considered a fair homage to the classic Polus map. A lot of players are nostalgic about Polus, and for good reason. It was an unconventional map with a balanced layout.

Today’s trailer also showcases pretty amusing tasks, which are crucial in a social game. It keeps the tone lighthearted and the discussions wacky, but it also makes the areas easily distinguishable during a panic.

While most fans were hoping for a PS VR2 announcement, Among Us VR is definitely about to renew interest with Polus Point. Also, the Among Us franchise recently announced it would be getting an animated TV series, with creator and executive producer Owen Dennis. That’ll invite a whole new wave of fans to participate.
