LEGO video games have often borrowed famous IP, but now the fans can turn things around by bringing fun franchises like Animal Crossing: New Horizons to life in LEGO Ideas.
LEGO Ideas is an online platform that builders can join to enter contests or submit “Product Ideas”. Once Product Ideas reach 10,000 supporters, they’re reviewed by the LEGO professionals and considered for mass commercial production!
This is an incredible way to invite gamers and LEGO fans to express their fandom. LEGO already has a booming franchise in the gaming industry. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga continues to be a massive success (despite the infamous Maz Kanata bug).
LEGO Ideas “contests” are unique, because they allow you to play around with established Intellectual Property that’s already sold on shelves.
But if you’re worried about what IP you can use for Product Ideas, don’t worry about wasted work. The submission page will review the IP you want to work with, and let you know if you can pursue it.
One of the Product Ideas that has previously won is a replica of the Green Hill Zone from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. So, don’t lose hope if you have something special in mind.
Animal Crossing submission feature
If you’re looking for inspiration, the builder profile “MrArthur” just submitted a clever recreation of the nature scenery from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The homemade set successfully captures some key ingredients from the game, focusing on a recognizable bridge surrounded by nature.

Small additions like the boombox and path to the waterfall are familiar and fun. Time does run out to support these creative little sparks, so you can show your love for MrArthur here.
But this isn’t the first Animal Crossing submission, and there are more ideas added every day. It’s an opportunity for fans to explore their creative side after playing the latest LEGO game.
And the community can rally behind you, commenting and supporting you with the chance for everyone to share your fandom.
There are so many games that have gotten love on the LEGO Ideas site, from FAR: Lone Sails to No Man’s Sky, which recently tweeted about it here:
So, make no mistake that fans and devs alike are watching. This is a great way to get younger gamers into building LEGO or vice versa, although every LEGO fan knows that all ages are welcome.
