How to Get and Evolve Boo in Anime Vanguards

Unlike many units you get from summoning, Boo is a secret unit in Anime Vanguards you have to earn through a specific, rare event. You’ll need some luck to even get the chance to obtain him by finding a secret portal after completing certain stages. Once you have Boo, evolving him requires gathering a bunch of specific materials, including unique Mojan Essences, other Essences, Gold, and getting a decent number of Takedowns with him.

How to Get Boo in Anime Vanguards

First things first, you can’t just pull Boo from the regular Summon Banners like Roku (Angel). Getting Boo involves a bit of luck and grinding specific stages.

  • The Secret Portal: Boo only comes from clearing a secret portal stage. This portal is guaranteed to just show up whenever; it has a very low chance of appearing.
  • Spawn Chance: There’s roughly a 2% chance for the secret portal to spawn after you successfully clear any stage in the Martial Island Story Mode or the Martial Island Legend Stages. It seems Legend Stage 3 might be a good place to farm since you might need drops from there later anyway.
  • The Notification: You’ll know the portal has appeared if you see a notification pop up that says “A god portal has opened”.
  • Entering the Portal: If you get the notification, look around at the end of the path after clearing the stage. You should see the portal there. Just walk into it to enter the secret stage.
  • Guaranteed Drop: The good news is, once you’re in the secret stage and you manage to beat it, you are guaranteed to get the Boo unit as a reward! The stage itself might not be super difficult, players have found it surprisingly easy.
  • Team Play: Some players speculate that running the stages with a full team might increase your overall chances of someone triggering the portal spawn, potentially benefiting the whole group, though it’s unclear if everyone gets Boo if only one person’s RNG triggers the portal. It’s worth trying with friends!

So, get ready to grind those Martial Island stages and keep your fingers crossed for that 2% portal spawn!

How to Evolve Boo into Boo (Evil) in Anime Vanguards

Got Boo? Awesome! Now it’s time to evolve him into his Boo (Evil) form. Even though he’s a secret unit, the evolution process is similar to others, requiring specific materials.

Here’s what you need to gather:

  • 12x Mojan Essence: This is a key item. You get Mojan Essence as a guaranteed drop when you clear the Legend Stage: Land of the Gods.
  • 40x Green Essence Stone
  • 12x Blue Essence Stone
  • 20x Pink Essence Stone
  • 12x Red Essence Stone
  • 2x Rainbow Essence Stone
  • 30,000 Gold
  • 5,000 Takedowns with Boo

Most of the regular Essence Stones (Green, Blue, Pink, Red, Rainbow) can be farmed by completing Challenges or through Crafting. You’ll likely accumulate the 30,000 Gold just by playing normally.

For the 5,000 Takedowns, just make sure Boo is on your team when you’re playing. Running Infinite mode stages is usually the fastest way to get kills because lots of enemies spawn. It seems takedowns rack up much quicker in Anime Vanguards compared to other games, so this shouldn’t take too long. Remember to level up Boo too, feeding him units helps!

Once you have all these materials and the required takedowns, you can evolve Boo!

What Evolving Boo Unlocks in Anime Vanguards

Evolving Boo into Boo (Evil) is a pretty big deal. It unlocks a bunch of cool stuff:

  • Nine new passive skills!
  • One new active skill.
  • Access to several transformations including: Super Boo, Boockleo, Bootonks, Boohon, and eventually Kid Boo.

How Transforming Works for Boo (Evil) in Anime Vanguards

Boo is one of the most unique units because of his transformation ability after evolving. It revolves around collecting Candy Stacks.

  • Gaining Candy Stacks: Passives like “The Ultimate Evil” and “Innocence Lost” allow Boo (Evil) to gain Candy Stacks. It seems you primarily get these stacks when Boo gets a takedown on an enemy he has turned into candy (which happens when he attacks them). A later passive lets him gain 2 stacks per kill on stunned enemies. You can see your current stack count on the left side of your screen during a match.
  • Unlocking Transformation: Once you upgrade Boo (Evil) past Upgrade 7 in a match, you unlock the “Transforming Terror” passive.
  • Using Candy Stacks: This passive lets you consume 50 Candy Stacks to transform Boo. Each transformation changes his form, abilities, and potentially stats. You can cycle through forms like Super Boo, Boockleo, Bootonks, and Boohon this way.
  • Kid Boo Form: The final transformation into Kid Boo seems to happen differently. Based on player experience, after cycling through the other forms using Candy Stacks, you might need to sell the unit. Selling him triggers a passive that transforms him into the powerful, full-AoE Kid Boo form for a final stand, though this form might have different targeting priorities (like highest HP).

So, evolving Boo is just the start! Mastering his Candy Stack mechanic and transformations is key to unlocking his full, chaotic potential on the battlefield.
