Apex Legends Mobile just confirmed a number of various leaks and rumors with its brand-new trailer for Season 2, including a new defensive legend Rhapsody and the neon map Pythas.

Fans had to wait a couple of extra minutes before the trailer actually began, but it starts off with a bang by introducing the new map Pythas Block 0 and the new legend “Rhapsody”.
Pythas is a neon, cyberpunk world that seems to have a night-time setting. Darker settings have upset fans in the past, with King’s Canyon Dark frustrating a lot of players during “Shadowfall” and “Shadow Royale” for Halloween.
But it’s clear that Pythas is a strong new direction for the Apex franchise, and new maps are truly the best kind of new content for a series that mainly focuses on selling cosmetics.
Rhapsody has an interesting backstory of their own, filled with rumors that she’s a traitor who caused some kind of collapse. The trailer also establishes that Pythas is filled with villains that distort and control the truth, which is an easy plot device these days, but timely nonetheless.
Rhapsody will introduce another cute robot sidekick, similar to D.O.C., Newt or Hack. However, Rhapsody’s robotic pooch, who apparently doubles as a boombox, showed off a unique new finisher and special ability. Apparently, they can create a blinding hologram wall that can still receive gunfire.
While this may borrow from certain elements in competing games like Valorant, it’s definitely a fun twist on playing with lines of sight instead of destroying them outright. Most recent legends have focused on literal wall hacks.
Rhapsody looks like a neat addition to the game, although the creativity is running low for new abilities. Fortunately, at least the spectacular lore of the franchise is expanding, just like Fade’s recent cinematic trailer.
The Season 2 launch trailer was strategically released just ahead of the Apex Legends Global Series championship livestream, which begins today at 10 AM pacific time.
