What’s coming in Apex Legends Season 20 Breakout?

Season 20 of Apex Legends introduces a dynamic new way to engage players with Breakout Rewards. Every two weeks, a new Legend becomes temporarily free-to-play, accompanied by unique challenges. Completing these challenges not only permanently unlocks the Legend but also rewards players with exclusive items, such as the Reactive “Top Tier” Flatline and the Legendary “Runaway Renegade” Wraith skin. This system encourages players to explore different Legends and strategies throughout the season.

The season brings fresh excitement with a map rotation featuring Olympus, Storm Point, and World’s Edge, available in both Trios and Duos modes. Additionally, a significant technical upgrade is introduced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X users with a new “Performance” mode targeting 120 FPS, achieved through content optimizations and a new multithreaded rendering system. This update aims to fully utilize modern hardware capabilities, promising a smoother and more responsive gameplay experience.

Crafting undergoes a complete overhaul with Crafting 2.0, eliminating crafting materials and rotations for a streamlined experience. Replicators are now free to use and single-use per player, encouraging strategic use throughout the match. The introduction of the Legend Upgrade system adds a layer of in-match progression, allowing players to customize their Legends with unique ability upgrades. This system enriches the strategic depth of Apex Legends, offering new ways to adapt and succeed in the ever-evolving battlefield.
