The SEGA Genesis – Nintendo Switch Online library has expanded with four more action-packed titles: STREET FIGHTER II’: SPECIAL CHAMPION EDITION, Pulseman, Kid Chameleon, and Flicky. Players can enjoy these games on the Nintendo Switch system, provided they have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
This membership option offers various benefits, including access to classic Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and SEGA Mega Drive games, as well as paid downloadable content for selected Nintendo Switch games. All these advantages come in addition to the standard Nintendo Switch Online membership perks.
Pulseman, developed by Game Freak and published by Sega, is a 1994 Japanese action platform game for the Sega Mega Drive. It was later introduced to North America via the Sega Channel in 1995 and the Virtual Console for the Wii. The game’s storyline revolves around Pulseman, a unique half-human, half C-Life creation born from the union of a scientist and an advanced Artificial Intelligence. Pulseman must face his own father, the twisted Doc Waruyama, and his Galaxy Gang to protect the world from cyber-terrorism.
Kid Chameleon, a 1992 platform game developed and published by Sega, was initially released for the Sega Genesis. Players control the protagonist Casey, who uses masks to shapeshift into different characters with varying abilities to rescue other players trapped in a virtual reality video game. The game has been re-released several times, most recently in 2017 as part of the Sega Forever service.
Flicky, a platform game developed by Sega in 1984, has players controlling a blue bird named Flicky as they gather small birds called Chirps and avoid enemies. Originally an arcade game, Flicky was later ported to the SG-1000 and other Japanese consoles, eventually making its way to North America and Europe on the Sega Genesis in 1991. The character has also made cameo appearances in other Sega games, particularly the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Lastly, the update includes Street Fighter II’: Champion Edition, a 1992 fighting game by Capcom. As the first of several updated versions of Street Fighter II, the game allows players to control the four grand masters and introduces mirror matches. The eight original characters’ fighting techniques have been balanced for competitive play, and the game features graphical improvements and new music.
