Ark Survival Ascended is a survival game that immerses you in a world filled with dinosaurs and other players. While the game offers a lot of freedom, it’s not particularly generous when it comes to guiding you on how to gather essential resources.

You’re often left to figure things out on your own, with only some easy-to-miss icons on the screen as your clue. This guide aims to help you get one such essential resource: Flint. If you’re after console commands, we have you covered!

How to Get Flint in Ark Survival Ascended

Flint is a crucial resource for crafting and survival in Ark Survival Ascended. This guide will walk you through the steps to obtain Flint, starting with crafting the necessary tool, the Stone Pick, and then using it to gather Flint.

How to Craft a Stone Pick to Get Flint in Ark Survival Ascended

Before you can start collecting Flint, you’ll need a Stone Pick. To craft one, you’ll need one stone, one wood, and 10 Thatch. You can pick up stones from the ground by pressing ‘E’ on your keyboard or ‘Y’ on your Xbox controller. For wood and thatch, you’ll need to punch a tree. Wood is less common than thatch when you’re punching trees.

Once you’ve gathered these materials, open your Inventory, navigate to the crafting section by pressing ‘RT’ on your controller, or ‘E’ or right-click on your mouse. Select ‘Craft One’ to create your Stone Pick. Equip it by dragging it to your hotbar or pressing ‘RT.’

Gathering Flint with Your Stone Pick in Ark Survival Ascended

With your Stone Pick equipped in Ark Survival Ascended, it’s time to gather Flint. Look for big rocks in the game world. Sometimes, the animation won’t trigger upon hitting these rocks, but keep at it and eventually, it’ll happen. Once you find a suitable rock, use your Stone Pick to smash it. Doing so will yield Flint, which will be automatically added to your inventory.
