It’s been over a decade since Armored Core V was released, which puts a lot of pressure on developer FromSoftware to get the sequel right after the success of Elden Ring. However, it seems that the developer is finally ready to show off some in-detail gameplay from Armored Core VI with a special showcase dedicated to it happening tomorrow, July 25, at 7 PT.
Armored Core made the announcement via Twitter, stating that players can expect a 12-minute “gameplay briefing,” which will likely serve as a look into many of the features in the game. In the tweet announcing the showcase, the developer also links to the YouTube and Twitch channels where players will be able to watch the showcase live.
This gameplay announcement comes after the reveal of the Armored Core VI story trailer that was released this past Thursday, July 20. It’s a very cinematic trailer that showcases some intense battles and someone hooked up to a complex machine with countless wires coming out of it. Many weapons are showcased, including rockets, lasers, and the mech’s propulsion systems.
As pointed out in our article linked above, the Armored Core series isn’t known for its exceptional lore, but there seems to be a little more of a focus in this entry. With FromSoftware’s last title being the monumentally successful Elden Ring, many are looking to this as the next great title from the company. However, Armored Core is a different beast and it will be interesting to see if players can adapt.
