The franchise will be getting a free post-launch update for all players, which will feature returning festivals and plenty of new content. This includes an armory update, a new Mastery Challenge pack, and new Tombs that the devs promise will conclude “Tombs of the Fallen”.

New content breakdown and details

The most exciting update will be the new game mode “Forgotten Saga”, which will also be free for all Valhalla players, and is expected this summer. A new trailer reveals that the mode will feature Niflheim, the realm of the dead, with a rogue-lite hook.

Players will repeatedly face the same enemy, with increasing difficulty. Dying is part of the process, so that players can adapt to changing mechanics.

Eivor will also receive a free update, with one final chapter releasing sometime during the end of 2022. The announcement promises to have a big surprise, which is surely the best way to conclude Eivor’s story.

Lastly, there will be a Viking Age Discovery Tour that’s free of violence and designed for learning. It will be available as a standalone product for Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia and Luna.

The Discovery modes may not be for everyone, but it does add to the beloved authenticity of ancient cultures and locations that makes the core game so popular and exciting.

Aside from actual content, fans can also expect Assassin’s Creed Origins to receive a graphics update, supporting 60 FPS, which is available now. The game will have a free weekend between June 16th and June 20th.
