Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to receive a major update with Patch 6, aimed at enhancing the gameplay experience for its dedicated fanbase. This latest patch, announced by Larian Studios, introduces game improvements and bug fixes, focusing on streamlining party management.
One significant change mentioned on Twitter is that players will be able to recruit a companion to their party without the need to first make space for them. This means you won’t need to dismiss and recruit; instead, you can just recruit, and the option of who to dismiss will appear. This feature is expected to make party management more seamless, saving players time and effort.
Dragon Age: Origins had you pick a party before leaving camp. There were also areas in Dragon Age: Inquisition where you’d just switch out your party quickly. I don’t know why this isn’t an option here.
The patch also addresses a common frustration encountered by players during gameplay. It implements a rework in automatically triggered dialogue, ensuring that the player’s avatar is prioritized as the main speaker. This will make sure other party members are not overshadowing the player. This should make a better and more personalized gaming experience, letting players have more control over interactions and decisions in the game.
Larian Studios has also announced that the upcoming Patch 6 update will be quite big, around 21GB in size. PC and Steam Deck players will need about 150GB of free space just to install the update. Unfortunately, Mac users will have to wait a bit longer for the patch to be released on their platform.
These are a lot of new updates, but I know some of them are highly requested. To be honest, it’s crazy to see the amount of effort that has gone into making the game better. This would be considered done by most standards. It’d be nice to see even more updates come in the future.
