Beamdog (known for Baldur’s Gate) and Aspyr Media (known for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy) have released the official gameplay trailer for their new game, MythForce–and it looks incredible!
Inspired by beloved 80s cartoons, MythForce unites swords and sorcery with gripping 1st-person combat in a rogue-lite adventure that resembles the nostalgia of Saturday morning cartoons.
You can enter the dungeon alone or play with up to four friends to take on an ever-changing Castle of Evil! In true, rogue-lite fashion, you’ll have to start over at the beginning every time you die. Which can be challenging, but this makes the journey to the end even more enjoyable.
While working your way through the dungeon, you can level up and uncover magical artifacts, treasures, and upgrades. These items will help you grow stronger as you battle against the evil forces within the dungeon.
In MythForce, there are four heroes for you to choose from: Victoria the Knight, Rico the Rogue, Maggie the Mage, and Hawkins the Hunter. The name of this band of individuals is also called MythForce. Your and your team’s job is to stop the tyranny of the vampire lord, Deadalus, and save Eldryth.
The trailer for this rogue-lite, action, and adventure game can be seen below.
The trailer’s gameplay shows each character’s unique abilities, some of the dungeon’s bosses, and combat scenes. This trailer is filled with nostalgia for those who grew up watching cartoons every Saturday morning. From the opening scene to the music to the gameplay, it’s everything you hope for when you think of an 80s-inspired cartoon game, and the graphics and visuals are spot-on.
MythForce is launching exclusively on Epic Games Store on PC on April 20, 2022, as an early access game. Be sure to check out our latest news section for more great content!
