Destiny 2’s latest expansion, The Witch Queen, is upon us, but so is Season 16, known as Season of the Risen. Aside from adding new weapons and new activities, Season of the Risen also adds a new Seasonal artifact called Synaptic Spear.
As with every Season, earning XP grants Power bonuses, which in return unlock powerful seasonal mods that you can equip in your armor and weapons. Unlike Season of the Lost, you can unlock and equip all 25 seasonal mods though choosing which to prioritise first can be an issue. As such, here are the best artifact seasonal mods that you should unlock and equip in Destiny 2 Season of the Risen.
Best Artifact Mods in Season of the Risen

Before we get into the mods that you should prioritise equipping, you first must equip the three Anti-Champions mods (Barrier, Unstoppable, and Overload) before anything else as they would allow you to run Nightfall Strikes and other high-end activities that spawn Champion enemies. With that said, here are the best seasonal mods we recommend you should first unlock and equip.
Thermoshock Plating

This is arguably the best seasonal mod you can equip this season. It adds two immensely effective buffs in one, making it an absolute game changer. Equipping this reduces both Solar and Arc damage from combatants, which could be a game-changer in high-end activities.
Overload Grenades

With the Void 3.0 update, there’s a high chance that you might be using the Void subclass over others, and, as such, you should equip Overload Grenade for crowd control.
Rocket Launcher Scavenger

For some reason, heavy ammo is incredibly hard to come across while exploring Savathun’s Throne World and during The Witch Queen’s campaign mission. Hence, for someone who prefers to use Exotic Rocket Launchers like, The Wardcliff Coil, equipping the Rocket Launcher Scavenger mod is a must.
Suppressing Glaive

The Witch Queen expansion introduces weapon crafting and a new weapon archetype called Glaive. It’s no surprise that many would want to test Glaive in the playground and if you’re one of those people, you should equip the Suppressing Glaive mode.
It is especially essential against Lucent Hive enemy type who wields the same abilities as the Guardians. They can rain down their super anytime during combat and equipping this mod and doing Glaive damage will prevent them from doing so.
Suppressive Darkness

The Suppressing Glaive mod and the Suppressive Darkness mod can work together in synergy, allowing you to deal additional damage to combatants already suppressed by your Glaive attacks.
That concludes our guide on the best Seasonal mods you should unlock and acquire this season. Make sure to check out our Destiny 2 section.
Can’t equip suppressing glaive and suppressive darkness at the same time as they both go in the class item and energy cost together adds up to 11.
Yeah, i noticed that aswell. I was all hyped for this to work then i saw that they cannot be equipped at the same time……… This guide SHOULD have noticed that. That is a BIG thumbs down from me….. :/
