The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild aka BOTW is well-known for all of the hijinks you can get to with its physics based system and incredible open world. There have been so many incredible clips of players bending the system to their will. Whether they are creating new techniques to kill enemies, or finding new ways to get to certain locations. If you challenge a player to do something in this game, they will most likely find a way!
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you start out in a cave and once you leave you are thrown into an open world. One of the first people you meet is the Old Man. This is the NPC that guides you through the beginning of the story a bit, and he is the one that gives you the all-important paraglider that allows you to float your way around the map!
He’s a bit of a mystery at first, and makes you prove your worth before being much help. Due to that being the case, ThornyFox on Reddit had enough of their guff and decided to let them save Hyrule kingdom on their own!
While this seems trivial, it is actually quite a feat to move this NPC close to the cliff. As you can see from the video, he doesn’t move easily. Even when faced with with the usage of a chest, Magnesis, and Stasis. The Stasis maneuver allows you to fix an object to a spot, and if you use force on it from a specific direction, it will launch that way with the amount of momentum you put into it! While most things in the game would be propelled a great distance, the Old Man stood his ground quite well, but ultimately fell to his demise. We have to wonder why he didn’t save himself with that Paraglider he values so much!
This isn’t the first time ThornyFox has had a run in with the Old Man, they managed to push one version of them all the way over to a duplicate version and have them both in the same frame together. We look forward to seeing what they have in store for them next!
