It’s no surprise that Call of Duty is happy to port celebrities into its game, with Snoop Dog and a couple of popular streamers being popular additions in the past. However, it now seems that Activision is investing more heavily in celebrities with recent tweets teasing Nicki Minaj, a new version of Snoop Dogg, and allegedly some iconic characters from gaming.
The Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg skins were officially teased by Activision on the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Both characters are faithful recreations of their real-life counterparts with gun camo and outfits recognizing their signature style. These two skins will be coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II‘s Season Five as part of the 50 Years of Hip Hop Celebration.
In another tweet, popular Call of Duty news channel CharlieIntel shared a collection of the images, alongside a silhouetted character they claim is 21 Savage.
The same account also claims that Lara Croft will be coming to the game, stating that she was listed on the PlayStation Blog alongside the announcement.
The first three new skins seem to be a very specific theme around the celebration of rap and hip-hop, with Lara Croft being a bit of an outlier. While Call of Duty has previously added skins based on real-life celebrities and streamers, it’s rarely, if ever, pulled a Fortnite and brought in a character from a completely different franchise.
