According to a recent tweet from PlayStation Game Size, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will have a huge file size. The tweet states that the game will require 73.12GB of free space on PS4 and 89GB of free space on PS5. This is just for the regular version of the game and does not include the campaign or multiplayer and zombie modes that send it far over 100GB.

The tweet signifies that the total file size for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is likely to be over 120 GB on PS4 and 140 GB on PS5. This is a significant amount of storage space, and it is important to note that this is just for the base game. Additional content, such as DLC packs and updates, will likely increase the game’s file size even further.

While the large file size is still of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is still surprising, it’s what we expect from it. The game has high-quality graphics and assets, so it’s going to be huge, and it’s hard to imagine that Triple-A games will ever be under 75GB again. Don’t let this keep you from buying the game, but understand that this isn’t the only number you need to think about.

MW2 is still playable and a lot of that content will transfer over. So you may need to have both games, and MW2 is around 150GB with all of the DLC and updates, so that could be a significant chunk of your storage space. I’d say that if you have MW3, it’s time to give up MW2 and just let your system work with that extra space.
