Call of Duty is marking Military Appreciation Month with a special in-game event: the U Assist Veterans (UAV) Challenge. Taking place from May 8th, 2024, to May 22nd, 2024, this challenge allows players to unlock exclusive in-game rewards while also backing the Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E). The event covers Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (Multiplayer and zombie modes) and Call of Duty: Warzone.

According to the Call of Duty Blog, players need to finish a set of in-game tasks to join in. Seven different prizes are available, such as moving Calling Cards, Emblems, Weapon Stickers, XP tokens, and more. Players can unlock the highest mastery reward, the “Blazon” Animated Weapon Camo, if all seven challenges are completed.

The rewards are:

  • Reward #1: “Eyes in the Sky” Animated Calling Card
  • Reward #2: “Ultimate Assist” Animated Emblem
  • Reward #3: “Autonomous Advantage” Large Decal
  • Reward #4: Double Weapon XP Token
  • Reward #5: “Helping Hand” Weapon Sticker
  • Reward #6: Double Player XP Token
  • Reward #7: “Search and Reveal” Weapon Charm
  • Mastery Reward: “Blazon” Animated Weapon Camo

Beyond the personal rewards, the U Assist Veterans Challenge is part of a larger fundraising effort. For each match played between May 8th and May 22nd in which a player calls in at least five UAVs in Modern Warfare III or a squad collectively calls in five UAVs in Warzone, Activision Blizzard will donate $1 to the Call of Duty Endowment. The company has committed to donating up to $1 million in total.

The Call of Duty Endowment is a non-profit group that helps veterans from the U.S. and U.K. find good jobs after they leave the military. Since it started in 2009, the Endowment has helped over 125,000 veterans find jobs. It works well and only costs about $618 to get a veteran a job, which is much less than what similar government programs spend.
