Cities: Skylines, the classic city builder from Colossal Order Ltd. and Paradox Interactive, just released a new teaser for the Content Creator Pack “Railroads of Japan” by developer Ryuichi Kaminogi. The DLC is slated to roll out on May 23rd, 2023. It will include railroad stations, metro stations, trains and more, all inspired by Japan.
The base game of Cities: Skylines is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. You can watch today’s teaser for all of the new content on the official Cities: Skylines YouTube channel:
Today’s trailer gives a much closer look at the content creator packs that were teased in last week’s Hotels & Retreats DLC trailer. The two additions will launch on the same day, and fans can likely expect similar teasers for the other creator packs “Brooklyn & Queens” and “Industrial Revolution”.
All of the new DLC is shaping up to be a proper sendoff for Cities: Skylines, which will likely be replaced by the highly anticipated sequel that was announced in the Paradox Announcement Show 2023.
There are a number of train simulators like Train Sim World 3, and it looks like the new creator pack equally understands the appeal. The trains in today’s teaser have lots of personality, and they also provide a sweeping, scenic view.
In fact, this DLC actually offers a decent amount of content. Despite the name, it won’t just be focusing on railroads, which is a welcome surprise.
There’s also an undeniable level of authenticity that’s going to make this very worthwhile. Accurate cultural portrayals create a unique experience, and that’ll translate to all of the smaller details too, such as the various props and buildings. Further, the representation is much appreciated and timely.
