As the fourth season of COD Modern Warfare II Ranked Play unfolds, it introduces a range of modifications that contribute to the competition’s dynamic. The changes extend from new seasonal rewards to the alteration of game modes and settings.
Among the key changes implemented, the minimum level prerequisite for Ranked Play entry now stands at Level 45. Season 4 further restricts certain weaponry usage, including the Tempus Razorback from the Assault Rifles category, the ISO 45 from SMGs, and the Tonfa in the Melee group.
The changes also extend to the Skill Rating (SR) and divisions, most noticeably through the end-of-season skill setback. Season 4 places players in the subsequent season based on their final skill division from the previous season. For example, a player who completes Season 3 in the Gold III division would find themselves in the Silver III division at the commencement of Season 4. However, players from Crimson II division and above will start the new season in the Diamond I division.
Season 4 presents an array of rewards that players can earn throughout the season based on their win records. These include rewards like the ‘Season 04 Competitor’ Weapon Sticker for five wins and the ‘MWII Season 04 Ranked Veteran’ Weapon Camo for one hundred wins. A noteworthy reward addition this season is the Pro Re-Issue Vaznev-9k weapon blueprint which can be earned at ten wins.
The end of each season also awards division-specific rewards that mirror a player’s highest skill division within the season. These include special skins for CDL Male & Female Operators across both factions. Further, each Ranked Play Season offers a unique set of division rewards to celebrate the highest skill division a player reaches within the season. Season 4 rewards vary from the ‘Season 04 Top 250’ Weapon Charm, Emblem, and Calling Card for the Top 250 division to emblems for Silver and Bronze divisions.
Moreover, the player who secures the #1 position on the Top 250 Leaderboard at the end of Season 04 will receive a unique calling card and emblem.
Season 4 also emphasizes maintaining competitive integrity. Disconnecting or quitting matches will result in SR penalties and temporary suspensions, with escalating consequences for repeat offenders. However, players not part of the quitting player’s party won’t lose any SR if a player leaves mid-match. Also, matches will be canceled and not counted if a player disconnects before the start of the match.
In keeping with CDL rules, friendly fire is enabled in Ranked Play. Players violating these rules will face penalties and suspensions. After advancing to a higher Skill Division, players receive temporary demotion protection for the first three games in the new division, preventing any loss of SR during this period. To maintain a fair balance of matches in higher Skill Divisions, restrictions have been applied on partying up based on the player’s current SR.
