Cult of the Lamb developer Massive Monster has shared plans for additional content and DLCs for the popular roguelike game. During a Reddit AMA, the team answered questions about player requests for multiplayer and modding support, giving positive but careful responses.
While details on the next update haven’t been revealed, the AMA has confirmed they are actively working on expanding the Cult of the Lamb experience. They mentioned that more content and additional DLCs are in the pipeline and are also considering exploring new directions. As found by PC Gamer, the best piece of news is the multiplayer.
Obviously, players really want this feature, even if it means not being a cult leader in someone else’s game. This was first confirmed by art director James Pearmain but was added to by community manager Lorna P. She responded to another question about multiplayer, stating it was “not off the table.”
“[It’s] something we’d love to do in the future if possible, but right now we are focused on making the next update,”
James Pearmain
Modding support is something a lot of people want, but there’s no definite answer yet. The studio doesn’t even know when the next DLC will be released. When asked about it, a developer responded, “We don’t have a set amount in mind, we’re just really enjoying working on Cult of the Lamb so it’s difficult to say.” This suggests that they haven’t decided on a specific amount of content, which is good and bad for the community. Good because that means more content, but bad because it means a longer wait.
With the ongoing Reddit AMA, you can expect more insights into the game’s development over the next 24 hours. However, if you want to join in and ask questions yourself, we’d say hurry. Once this is done, it will be a while before another opportunity like this comes around again.
