What is Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update?
With the release of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion on September 26th, the 2.0 Update is set to significantly refine and elevate the Cyberpunk gameplay. A standout feature of the update is the revamped perk and Cyberware system. The recent trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty gave players a sneak peek into these enhancements, showcasing captivating new perks like deflecting bullets using a sword, engaging in a slow-motion air dash, the deadeye ability, and introducing several fresh finisher moves.
Additionally, the 2.0 Update will introduce the Relic skill tree. The trailer teased a few of these new abilities, including the Limiter Removal Relic, enabling players to launch adversaries sky-high with mere physical force. Other notable mentions include the Spatial Mapping Relic, which highlights foes and enables swift dashing, and the Launch Capacity Override, which empowers players to release multiple wrist grenades in rapid succession.
An exciting inclusion in Update 2.0 is the vehicle combat feature. This is a significant pivot from the original Cyberpunk 2077, which lacked vehicle combat. With the new update, players can now indulge in a multitude of vehicular confrontations, from firing handguns out of a moving car, unleashing machine gun fire reminiscent of scenes from 007: No Time to Die, to hacking into enemy vehicles to control their movements. This feature synergizes perfectly with the overhauled police AI, which promises a more authentic response mechanism.

The 2.0 Update isn’t stopping there—it’s bringing in a whopping 100+ new items, spanning across categories like weapons, clothing, Cyberware, and vehicles. While the exact distribution between the base game and the update remains a tad unclear, it’s speculated that most of these items will be part of the complimentary update. However, certain elements, like the expanded story quests, the introduction of a risky district, and potentially the continuous dynamic events, might be exclusive to the Phantom Liberty expansion.
CD Projekt Red’s efforts to rejuvenate Cyberpunk 2077 have been noteworthy, but the 2.0 Update appears to be the grand leap forward that enthusiasts have eagerly anticipated. The realization that it’s merely weeks away is electrifying.
