The gameplay leak of Daredevil: Man Without Fear could have competed with Spider-Man, and we've got the details here.

Daredevil: Man Without Fear, a game planned for 2004 had a prototype leak recently on YouTube. It looks very much like games of its time and it reminds me of the original Spider-Man games for PlayStation 1.

As seen in the leaked prototype gameplay video, players get the basic options shown in the main menu. Choosing the Bonus menu option shows a trailer for what appears to be the game. The enemies look like Elektra, Kingpin, and others.

The main gameplay shows Daredevil walking around a level and protecting civilians. The player uses a radar to see enemies through walls, and to tell innocent from criminal. Based on the score at the end, there are collectibles and other reasons to explore the levels.

Like I said above, it reminds me of the older Spider-Man games, especially Spider-Man 2 Enter Electro. The combat and gameplay is very similar, and we could have seen this Daredevil game compete with Spider-Man at the time.

The quality of the prototype is amazing compared to games of that age, and would probably have earned itself a sequel. We will always say to take leaks with a grain of salt, but this would be one of the best fakes I’ve ever seen. It looks and feels like an older Superhero game.

The timing is strange, why only show gameplay almost two decades later? There was no commentary given in the video so we don’t know how the user got the prototype or why it’s taken so long to surface.

I definitely recommend watching the video, especially the mission, because it really is a shame that this game didn’t see the light of day. I’m hoping that someone at Insomniac sees it and wants to make a Daredevil game.

Daredevil doesn’t just share the same universe as Spider-Man. They share the same city and enemies. Insomniac has already stated they have plans for Wolverine, so why not Daredevil, too?
