The developers of Dark and Darker have announced the upcoming Hotfix 2 patch, which will begin rolling out on April 17, 2023, at 11:50 AM. The patch aims to address several known issues and improve the overall game experience. The patching process is expected to take approximately an hour and a half, during which the game servers will be offline. Players can find patch download instructions on the game’s official Discord channel.

Hotfix 2 will bring multiple fixes, including resolving dungeon access and rollback issues, as well as fixing an issue where the Locust Swarm spell could deal unintended damage. The patch will also improve the extinction animation for the Locust Swarm and address a problem where the checkbox would not activate when trading items.

Additionally, Hotfix 2 will fix issues related to chats and filters in trades, along with delayed monster recognition of players. The Deathskull’s response to the Bard’s playing and the Bard’s vulnerability while channeling will also be addressed. Furthermore, the patch will ensure the proper functioning of the Hoard.

In terms of gameplay adjustments, the Ruins area will become slightly brighter, and the Rest ability will once again fill a small number of spells. Arrows and bolts will now have a stacking limit of 15. The patch will also implement several changes to the Cleric class, such as adjusting the spell tiers for Lesser Heal, Locust Swarm, Earthquake, and Resurrection. The damage for Locust Swarm will be modified to 2 per second and will undergo fine-tuning in the future.

The Wizard Meditation spell will have its channeling time reduced to 24 seconds and cooldown to 45 seconds. Rangers will start the game with an initial supply of 30 arrows. Lastly, the patch will adjust the health of the Ghost King and Lich bosses, with a slight decrease for the Ghost King and an increase for the Lich.

The developers have apologized for the previous uncomfortable gaming state and aim to deliver a better experience with the release of Hotfix 2.
