A recent leak for Dead by Daylight shows off a variety of new cosmetics, including masks for Ghostface that surprised fans with a nod to Scary Movie. Although no release date is clear just yet, fans expect to see the new cosmetics in October. Here’s the leak from @LeaksDbd:

More than a few of the Ghostface masks are fun references. But the highlight of this leak is definitely the Scary Movie mask, where the traditional Ghostface makes a ridiculous face and has a tongue hanging out.

The scene from Scary Movie is a nod to the classic “wassup” commercial, which has likely been all but forgotten for younger audiences, aside from a brief reference in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Although the Scary Movie series took a remarkable plunge in quality, the first one still has its charms and audience. Adding the spoof mask would be a must-buy for even the most casual players, and it’d be a perfect way to welcome the new Halloween season.

Many fans quickly pined for Brenda from Scary Movie, but the mask will have to be enough for now. It’s going to add a very unique flavor to Dead by Daylight.

Meanwhile, Adam mains are thrilled that he’ll be getting any kind of cosmetic. Finally, Adam is getting something new, since the devs have clearly played favorites with some of the other survivors. The same few characters seem to get a lot of cosmetics, which is unfortunate for other compelling survivors.

Aside from Ghostface and Adam, the leak didn’t impress too many fans. But for most, the gesture will probably be enough.

The leak comes shortly after Dead by Daylight’s latest PTB, which features the Prestige Catchup mechanic and Finishing Mori system:
