Dead by Daylight, the asymmetrical horror classic, has released a new trailer that reveals the roadmap for this year’s big Halloween celebration, “Haunted by Daylight”. There will be plenty of new store content, Tome 13, an in-game event on October 13th, and a free weekend on October 27th.

The trailer for this event is truly something special. The roadmap combines original content with familiar IP and traditional Halloween imagery.
The store content updates have rarely been so appealing, adding a Hallowed Blight skin for Wesker alongside classy nods to homemade costumes and even The Creature from the Black Lagoon. A nod to old Universal monster movies is an unexpected surprise, even if Marvel’s Werewolf by Night premieres tomorrow.
With the Scary Movie “wassup” mask for Ghostface that was leaked last week, adding a welcome touch of humor to the event, there will likely be something for everyone this October.
However, adding a few outfits is rarely enough to qualify as true content. Fortunately, Dead by Daylight plans to treat fans with a simple in-game event involving rifts and void energy.
The participation rewards for this one may only include some simple skeleton shirts for survivors, but the candy-based designs for the killers’ weapons is both amusing and clever. There couldn’t be a more perfect way to incorporate the season’s trick or treating traditions.
Halloween is always the time of year that renews interest in party horror games like Dead by Daylight, but it’s impressive how much the game continues to genuinely earn its staying power. Haunted by Daylight will surely reinvigorate fans, who may be unsure about the crossover with PUBG: Battlegrounds.
