Infinite State Games, the developer behind the rogue-lite game Rogue Aces, has announced the launch of a demo for the 3D reboot of their 2014, “Don’t Die, Mr. Robot!” The demo is now available for download on the game’s Steam page.
3D Don’t Die, Mr. Robot!, is a fast-paced, arcade-style dodge-’em-up that features a small droid named Mr. Robot. The character finds himself trapped in the perilous and fruity dimension known as the Neon Dunjun. Players must help Mr. Robot survive by collecting fruits that explode on contact, destroying enemies in their blast radius and setting off chain reactions for even more destruction and points.
For the reboot, Infinite State Games has completely remade the original game from the ground up, transitioning it into the third dimension. The developer has also rebalanced the difficulty curve based on years of user feedback, achieving a balance between excitement and challenge. The updated game offers a neo-retro cell-shaded look, revamped enemies in full 3D, and an all-new soundtrack from the ISG house band.
The demo offers a self-contained version of the Arcade Mode, complete with its own online leaderboard. In this mode, players face a timed score attack, attempting to earn as many points as possible before the fruit-trance meter reaches 100%. As the meter increases, enemies become more challenging and numerous.
