Destiny 2 has showed off new gameplay of upcoming content for the Season of Seraph, which rolls out on December 6th, 2022, and will run through February 28th, 2023. You can watch today’s new trailer on Destiny 2’s official YouTube channel here:

The trailer teased fans with a “Redacted” phrase in the title, which invited a tremendous number of jokes, but the anime countdown sort of turned expectations around. Throughout the trailer, the new story is explained, where agents known as Seraphs must prevent Rasputin’s satellites from being used against the Last City.

There was also a parade of upcoming gear and weapons, and the glaive in particular earned a lot of genuine hype. Of course, a lot of fans were justifiably annoyed at some of the recycled content. This is always a point of contention, because many devs (looking at you, Apex Legends) have a bad habit of recycling content to inflate new seasons.

Still, there should be some worthwhile gameplay in Season of Seraph, and there’s been an emphasis on infiltration that’s fairly promising. It’s a nice approach compared to some of the previous seasons, and the subject matter takes itself a little more seriously.

There’ll be Heist Battlegrounds focused on breaking into Braytech facilities, and on December 20th, 2022, players will gain access to Revision Zero, which will require you to accumulate catalysts.

This deep into the game, it would have been beneficial for the devs to shake up their content a little more, but this could easily have been a lot worse. It should be enough to hold fans over until the Lightfall DLC, which is scheduled to launch right when Season of Seraph ends on February 28th, 2023.
