Destiny 2 Season of the Deep Description
Destiny 2’s much-anticipated Season 21, named Season of the Deep, is packed with new features and surprises. Bungie has hinted at the return of a familiar locale and character: Titan and Commander Sloane, respectively. The hints from key art suggest Titan, which has been inaccessible since the Pyramid Fleet’s arrival, will be opened again. Intriguingly, this location is said to be home to an entity identified as the “enemy of the Witness” at the end of the Winterbite quest. Furthermore, the Season’s Artifact, NPA Repulsor Regulator, will offer several benefits, including a quicker grenade recharge time, lightning strike capabilities, and damage resistance. Notably, Season 21 will allow players to refund perks from the Artifact individually, providing more flexibility in build creation.
With Season 21, players can look forward to an array of new elements, including new armor, gameplay changes, and insights into the story of Lightfall. The new armor, showcased in Bungie’s teaser image, presents an aquatic theme, characterized by flowing robes and choral armor pieces. The season also promises to shed light on The Veil, a central, elusive element in Lightfall’s main campaign. Players will also have the chance to add a new Legendary hand cannon to their collection, a weapon that was showcased in Lightfall’s promotional material but didn’t feature in the expansion or Season of Defiance.

Several updates and changes will affect gameplay in Season 21. Bungie is fine-tuning Destiny 2 with changes ranging from nuanced adjustments to more notable revisions. Roaming Supers will receive upgrades for improved parity with other Supers. A new Armor Charge system will give players more options to activate their builds’ unique perks. Exotic armor and weapons will be reworked, with significant overhauls for some pieces. Two dozen Exotic armor pieces and seventeen weapons, including several legacy and recent Exotics, will be fine-tuned. Additionally, accessibility will be improved with new options such as reticle changes, full auto melee, and new subtitle color options. Furthermore, players can expect an updated shield system for enemies, an easier way to obtain older raid Exotics, Exotic armor focusing offered by Master Rahool, and three new Aspects for Destiny 2’s newest subclass, Strand.
