In the forthcoming Destiny 2 update, a selection of weapons, including the Graviton Lance, are due for alterations as part of a modest mid-season balance pass. These adjustments come ahead of significant changes planned for Season 22.

The Graviton Lance, following its recent return to prominence, is now deemed too rewarding and effortless to utilize considering its current power level. Moreover, the weapon’s Cosmology explosion has been seen as verging too closely to “primary ammo Cloudstrike.” Concurrently, the Lance’s performance in PvE, in contrast to Revision Zero’s Heavy Burst mode, was noticeably lagging.

To address these issues, the Graviton Lance will undergo several changes in the update. Its PvE damage is being increased by 67% to bring it up to speed with other weapons in its class. However, the damage dealt by the Cosmology explosion to Guardians will be reduced by 40%. Additionally, the bonus aim assist, a perk from the catalyst, will be removed. The developers will continue to monitor the weapon’s performance in the game to determine whether further modifications are needed.

The update also includes changes to “No Time To Explain” (NTTE), a weapon that has been somewhat overshadowed by the Graviton Lance. With the Lance’s power being scaled down, the developers have made a precautionary adjustment to NTTE to avoid its easy reclamation of the Pulse Rifle throne. Consequently, the range stat of NTTE will be reduced by 10.

Lastly, the update will rectify a bug affecting the Fighting Lion. An issue with the perk application had been blocking the catalyst’s benefits from being granted. This fix will ensure the Chimera perk on the catalyst correctly applies buffs to Kinetic and Power slot weapons. The planned modifications aim to address current imbalances and prepare the stage for the more comprehensive changes coming in Season 22.
