Diablo 4 recently rolled out an update with significant changes that affect various aspects of gameplay. Among these are enhanced World Tier bonuses, the adoption of account-wide Altar of Lilith unlocks, and a change to map discovery, which will now also be account-wide.
In an endeavor to improve overall gameplay, the update includes several general improvements. The alteration to the Altar of Lilith and map discovery stands out, with the unlocking now taking an account-wide approach. Changes to Silent Chests have improved overall loot quality, and the channel time for the Leave Dungeon ability has been increased from 3 to 5 seconds. The update also adds support for the PS5 Dual Sense Edge Wireless controller on PC platforms.

Simultaneously, there’s a reduction in the tendency for many monsters to move around in combat, improving melee characters’ experience as they will not have to chase down their enemies as frequently. The change with Whispers no longer rewarding Sigil Dust is another change worth mentioning.
Notable improvements have been made to World Tier II. The increased bonus gold from 15% to 20% and a 15% rise in items dropped by monsters are noteworthy changes. The World Tier II upgrade aims to better align the rewards with the difficulty level of the tier.
Furthermore, level scaling inside dungeons and overworld territories has been revised in World Tiers III and IV. Monsters’ levels will begin to trail behind the player’s level after a certain point, up to a maximum of 5 Levels behind. This change will not affect World Bosses, Legion Events, Fields of Hatred, Helltide, or Nightmare Dungeons.
When considering the World Tier III example, if a player’s level is between 56 and 60, the monster’s level will remain at 55. However, if the player’s level progresses to 61, the monster’s level increases to 56. This pattern continues, with the monsters always lagging by 5 levels until the World Tier III’s max monster level of 70. The same trend is visible in World Tier IV, with the difference in levels beginning at 75.
On the experience front, the reward experience for completing Whispers in World Tiers III and IV has seen a significant increase. Adjustments have also been made to bonus experience rewards for killing monsters higher level than the player.
The pre-season bonus for a monster one level higher was +15%, two levels higher was +20%, and three or more levels higher was +25%. This structure has been revised post-season to 1.5% bonus per level up to 10 levels.
World Tier level offsets have also been adjusted. Currently, the offsets stand at up to +3 for World Tier II, up to +10 for World Tier III, and up to +100 for World Tier IV. With the new changes, World Tier II remains at up to +3, but World Tier III changes to up to +6, and World Tier IV adjusts to up to +10.
This update also brings changes to the Helltide gameplay. The monsters in Helltide are now three levels higher than the player instead of two. Furthermore, the Tortured Gift of Mysteries chest now requires 250 Aberrant Cinders, up from 175. However, all interactable objects in Helltide zones now have a small chance of dropping Aberrant Cinders, increasing the opportunity to gather this resource.
