The fifth time’s a charm, at least many Digimon fans hope that is true, as known leaker Ryokutya2089 posted a new leak, this time revealing the new possible date of Digimon Survive. According to the leak, the series’ long-awaited new tactical RPG will reach the Japanese market on July 28th, 2022.
Also according to the leaker, there haven’t been any major changes to the game’s battle system, but its Graphical User Interface has been updated. If the release date is confirmed, this will be the fifth time Digimon Survive receives a release window/date since its announcement in July 2018. The game was originally planned to be released in 2019, before being subjected to four delays.
Digimon Survive was announced in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Digimon Anime. The game will put players in the shoes of high school student Takuma Momozuka, after he and a group of schoolmates get lost during a school trip and are transported to another dimension. More specifically, to a world where monsters and danger lurk in every corner. The game also promises to feature a ”darker tale about survival and friendship”.
According to the game’s official description, present on Bandai Namco’s official site, Digimon Survive will be a tactical RPG where the choices players make will impact not only the evolution of their Digimon but also the ultimate fate of many of its main cast. Digimon Survive is set to be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
