A major was hidden within an official Disney Parks Blog post. Nestled among a list of experiences planned for 2024, a single line confirmed the much-anticipated release window for Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars title, Star Wars Outlaws. We doubt this was intended as the way the potential release window was revealed, but it’s out now.
The blog post, authored by Editorial Content Director Thomas Smith, details upcoming attractions and initiatives across Disney theme parks, resorts, cruises, and merchandise. Under the title “24 Oooh-Worthy Things at Disney Experiences in 2024,” the 22nd item simply reads: “Explore an Open-World Star Wars Game. And for Star Wars fans – Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world Star Wars game is set to release late this year.”
While Ubisoft and Disney had previously confirmed a 2024 release window for Star Wars Outlaws, this blog post marks the first official mention of a more specific timeframe. No exact date was provided, but fans can now eagerly look forward to venturing into the Star Wars galaxy sometime during the latter half of 2024.
This means that if it’s hit with a delay, it will likely end up in 2025. With the release window now unveiled, Star Wars Outlaws is sure to dominate gaming conversations throughout the year. While an official release date and further details remain under wraps, we expect more information as we get into 2024.
For those who don’t know, Star Wars Outlaws puts players in the boots of Kay Vess, a cunning scoundrel navigating the criminal underworld during The Empire Strikes Back. Players can explore both iconic and brand-new planets, taking on high-stakes missions, engaging in thrilling combat, and utilizing stealth and gadgets to achieve their goals. If it’s releasing this year, then pre-orders will be up shortly.
