Rumors surrounding a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake have been circulating for years, with Konami reportedly working alongside lead developer Virtuos Studios on the project. Donna Burke, an Australian voice actor and singer who has been involved with the Metal Gear Solid series since Peace Walker, recently added more weight to these rumors through a Twitter post.
Burke shared an image of herself holding a folder labeled “Snake Eater,” accompanied by the caption “Recording in progress.” While this alone did not provide conclusive evidence that she was recording for the Snake Eater remake, Twitter user zxSOLIDxSNAKEzx discovered that the lyrics sheet in another one of Burke’s posts featured the lyrics to the Snake Eater theme.
Given Burke’s history with the Metal Gear Solid series, her involvement in the rumored remake seems plausible. In addition to her contributions to Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain, she has performed the Snake Eater theme at Metal Gear in Concert events. If a re-recording of the theme is planned for the remake, Burke’s involvement would be a logical choice.
The speculated release date for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is 2024, according to Andy Robinson, owner and editor of Video Game Chronicles. He mentioned this in response to a fan question about the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid event even if E3 2023 is canceled.
