Esl One Stockholm Major 2022

It has been almost two years since Valve has held a LAN tournament with an audience for one of its more popular video game titles: Dota 2. With a total of US$500,000 prize pool, the Stockholm Major will be one of the first Majors this year to have a physical audience. With this, pro teams all over the world have been preparing for this monumental event. All qualified teams are now securing a visa to Sweden before the event starts on May 12, 2022.

Stockholm Major Qualified Teams

With 18 teams to participate initially, The Stockholm Major will only have 14 teams attending the event. All qualified teams from the Chinese region will not be attending the first 2022 DPC Major, possibly because of the health concerns in the region. These teams will have a separate regional tournament, according to Perfect World.

With no Chinese teams participating at this time, 14 teams from West and East Europe, South East Asia, and North and South America will battle for the championship. The qualified teams are as follows:

  • OG
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • Team Liquid
  • Tundra Esports
  • BetBoom Team
  • Team Spirit
  • Mind Games
  • Fnatic
  • Boom Esports
  • T1
  • Evil Geniuses
  • TSM
  • Thunder Awaken
  • Beastcoast

The tournament will have a single round-robin elimination format for the group stage from May 12 to May 17. Two teams will go home, and the rest of the teams will proceed to the playoffs from May 18 to May 22. The champion will take home US$200,000 and 680 DPC Points.

Albeit with a different roster, two-time The International champions OG will be participating in the Major, along with the defending champions Team Spirit. With the Chinese powerhouses out of the picture, the matchups between the regions are as unpredictable as ever.
