Players of Dragon Ball FighterZ will be happy to hear that the long-awaited port for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S has finally been confirmed. The port is scheduled to release on February 29th, 2024. It is coming with a big advancement many wanted: The implementation of rollback netcode.

Rollback netcode is a popular networking technology in the fighting game community. It’s designed to improve the online gaming experience by predicting and addressing any lag during matches. This helps reduce input delay and makes gameplay more responsive, benefiting players with different internet connections.

The official Dragon Ball Games X (formerly Twitter) account announced the port, revealing a release date in February 2024. The port is officially confirmed, so players can expect improved visuals and performance on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions compared to the previous generation. The rollback netcode is also expected to significantly improve players’ online experience on these platforms.

The tweeted announcement doesn’t mention any updates for the PC version. However, the rollback net code was available on PC right when it was released, so it doesn’t need any updates. This release is a big deal for Dragon Ball FighterZ. It could bring the game new life because it was stuck in the past. We’ll have to see what happens to the community, but rollback netcode is a welcome addition.
