Drop Dead: The Cabin VR, the brand-new zombie VR shooter from developer and publisher Soul Assembly, has just released patch notes for their first update after launch. Update 1.0.1 features a variety of bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and balancing changes.
Drop Dead: The Cabin VR is available now on Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro, but a release window has not been announced for other VR systems like PSVR2. Here’s the full list of patch notes in the official Twitter feed for Drop Dead: The Cabin VR:
Drop Dead: The Cabin VR is conceptually simple, and probably what most people expect from VR games. The art design looks nice, but it’s still a cabin in the woods, so nothing revolutionary. There are also some familiar zombie classes.
However, the game also happens to excel in its genre, so fans should be pleased, nonetheless. Many players have agreed that the virtual sense of movement and interaction feels immersive enough.
Drop Dead: The Cabin VR also supports cooperative gameplay, which was a smart approach. It absolutely feels like a party game, and offers many opportunities for fans to mess around. So, it’s a relief to see that cross-region invites have been resolved.
Most of the issues players have had with Drop Dead: The Cabin VR are technical setbacks. Today’s patch notes arrived swiftly, just a few days after launch, which is much appreciated. They also address a lot of those minor hiccups.
Although the patch notes remain broad here and there, the devs paid attention to crucial elements like crashes and performance. A lot of the changes in Update 1.0.1 smoothed out player movement, which is the high point of the game. It remains to be seen if the balancing changes will work out, but today’s patch notes look very promising overall.
