The longtime entertainment expo, E3, is now expected to run between June 13th and June 16th, 2023. According to various sources, partnered showcases should begin even earlier, on June 11th, 2023. The business and public days will be split between the 13th and 16th. Here are some of the reports on Twitter:

The update was met with an equal share of excitement and cautious pessimism, since E3 was expected this year too, and ultimately ended up canceled anyway. As a result, this has sewn a lot of doubt. Many responses thus far have focused on the possibility for E3 to end up with the same fate, regardless of how many deals or plans have been cemented in place.

However, E3 is one of the biggest events in the industry, and countless fans have compared its strong potential for success to a disappointing summer season.

The Summer Game Fest in particular has received some harsh backlash for its organization and announcements. The SGF suffered from its confusing duration. It was also left with fewer big reveals as individual entities decided to host their own showcases.

E3 has the opportunity to reestablish a tidy and large showcase that earns genuine hype, as long as it can actually come to fruition next year. There’s a lot of trust that needs to be rebuilt, aside from the circumstances surrounding the 2022 cancellation. After all, if health is ever a concern, it’s often best to consider that first and foremost.

E3 is currently scheduled to show at the Los Angeles Convention Center, partnering with Reedpop to operate the event. Fans have become justifiably bitter after disappointing digital showcases, so a live event will surely be a breath of fresh air for many.
