Independent developer Keen Games Studio is celebrating a major milestone for their newly released action-adventure title, Enshrouded. Just four days after its official launch, the game has surpassed one million players, exceeding expectations and garnering a positive reception from the community.
Keen Games expressed their overwhelming gratitude to players in a statement released on social media, acknowledging the “completely blown away” feeling surrounding the game’s success. They attributed the achievement to both the positive reception and the dedication of the player base. Our review of the game was positive as well; we loved it!
While details surrounding specific player activities remain scarce, Keen Games hinted at the community’s active exploration of the game’s shrouded world, suggesting the discovery of hidden secrets and challenging encounters. Looking ahead, the developer assured players that this is merely the beginning for Enshrouded.
Twitter said they were going to continue ongoing development and improve the game. Specific plans for future content or features have yet to be revealed, but Keen Games seems boosted by the sales figures. It seems like smaller studios are doing well this month; Palworld recently also did very well. It makes us wonder why many Triple-A Studios are fine with just being average.
For those who haven’t played Enshrouded, it is a cooperative survival crafting action RPG set in a sprawling voxel-based world called Embervale. Players take on the role of the Flameborn, the last embers of hope for a dying race, tasked with reclaiming their lost kingdom from a corrupting fog known as the Shroud. The game blends elements of exploration, combat, and crafting. Essentially, your job is to build a new village and forge powerful weapons and armor to fight the guardians of The Shroud.
If that sounds like a game you’d like, join the other players and get it on Steam.
