The latest gameplay video from Enshrouded provides a showcase of its voxel-based building and terraforming mechanics, offering players a chance to understand the extent of creative control they can exert over the game world.

In Enshrouded, construction seems to be limited only by the player’s imagination. The video highlights a range of possibilities: erecting a towering castle, designing something more foreboding like a skull fortress, or even excavating underground to craft a private dungeon.

Building appears to be a streamlined process in Enshrouded. Rather than painstakingly stacking individual blocks, players can expedite the process by employing voxel blueprints. These blueprints, collections of voxels that can be placed simultaneously, seamlessly blend with one another, speeding up the process of laying out larger structures. Players can tweak and refine their designs at any time using single block tools, granting them the freedom to create intricate shapes and decorations.

Once the structure is complete, players can then focus on interior design. Enshrouded offers over 100 distinct props in various styles and materials to start with, along with decorative furniture that offers gameplay advantages. For example, specific furniture types can grant a stronger “rested” buff before embarking on the next adventure.

For those who wish to add a personal touch, trophies from defeated bosses can be collected and showcased in players’ homes, acting as a testament to their achievements. Additionally, as the player’s backpack might quickly fill up with items, chests can be used to securely store valuables.

The terrain manipulation feature is another aspect of Enshrouded’s gameplay, enabling players to shape the environment around their dwellings. Using a pickaxe or terrain-shaping tools, players can carve out underground structures like caves or create basements for storing resources and treasures.

The game also introduces a settlement feature where NPCs discovered on adventures can be housed within the player’s base. These NPCs contribute to the base by offering crafting assistance and providing quests. Crafting stations and NPC props can further expand the list of available crafting recipes.

Enshrouded also includes a farming feature where players can cultivate resources at home. After preparing land with fertile soil, players can plant seedlings and reap their rewards.

With a fully voxel-based world, Enshrouded aims to grant a significant degree of creative control to players, enabling them to build a variety of structures and manipulate the terrain to their liking. The game is currently available for wishlisting on Steam.
