The Elder Scrolls Online just dropped an event that took many players by surprise. For the next 5 days, players can earn double XP and Gold as well as other bonuses by playing The Elder Scrolls Online. Here’s THG’s guide on everything the event offers and how to make the most of it.
Double Rewards For ESO Quests
What caught my eye the most about this event was the 100% increased gold gains, but the official explanation of the event had me a bit confused. You should know that the 100% increased gold does not apply to selling items to traders, on the player market, or the fence. Instead, you can see double gold drops from completing quests and killing monsters, and things of a similar nature.
Crafting dailies also seem to have increased returns, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

The 100% increased XP applies to every source of experience, and even seems to work for Guild-specific XP like with the Dark Brotherhood or Thieve’s guild. The bonus XP stacks with XP gains from experience scrolls and other multipliers.
Also during this event, you’ll see double yield from crafting nodes. Thinkings like ingot nodes and sources of wood will give twice the amount of rewards as usual, but fishing and animal drops (such as leather) are not affected by this increase.
Unlike other ESO events, The Explorer’s Celebration doesn’t feature at quests, tickets, or specific achievements or collectibles. Additionally, the Impresario will not be accessible during the event. Instead of accessing a quest or using a consumable to begin the event, the effects are passively applied to every zone in the game, meaning you can simply play without thinking about it.
Because the bonus gold doesn’t apply to things like pickpocketing or selling items, now is the best time to tackle some world or guild quests and experience ESO’s story outside of your grind. Dungeons also remain highly profitable during this event, with the random daily bonus XP increased by 100%.
ESO’S Explorer’s Celebration lasts from today, March 17 until Tuesday, March 22 at 10AM EDT.
