Pokémon World Championships

Today’s presents kicked off by announcing that the 2023 Championships are officially going to be held in Japan, for the very first time. They’ll run between August 11th and 13th, in Yokohama. It’s a great gesture, even if the homecoming took far too long. The championships will also have a sneak peek of the all-new Pokemon Trading Card Game classic, a premium TCG set intended to “last a lifetime”.

Pokémon Concierge

Netflix and The Pokémon Company are officially teaming up for a series with a completely new storyline and stop-motion animation. It centers on the staff of a resort and the characters who visit. Today’s showcase included a brief for the show, which had some gorgeous animation that should remind longtime fans of the old-school clay artwork featured in the TCG.

Pokémon Unite

Today’s showcase included a spotlight teaser for Zacian joining the game, who will be accompanied by a Zacian-themed event. However, an upcoming Boss Rush event was also teased, as well as invitations for an Asia Champions League 2023. Zacian will include their signature sword, and the crowd control attacks should definitely join the game meta.

Pokémon Cafe Remix and Pokémon Masters EX

The Paldean starters from Scarlet and Violet are officially joining Pokémon Cafe Remix. Participating in the event will allow players to add these starters to their staff. Meanwhile, hit mobile game Pokémon Masters EX will hold a special rally allowing players to team up with a variety of champions like Leon.

Pokémon Sleep and Go Plus+

Pokémon Sleep, an adventure set on an island, is officially announced to release later this year on Android and iOS devices. Players’ sleep can be “measured, recorded, and analyzed”. It rewards players for resting, drawing new Pokémon and their different sleep styles. It’s a creative way to join the sleep app genre, and

The Go Plus+ device was announced, expected to release in July. It coincides with the upcoming Sleep title, letting players record sleep data, unlock lullabies, and even alarm sounds. It will also work with Pokémon Go, making it easier to spin stops and toss Poké Balls.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Completely new Pokémon are going to be added to each version in a new Tera Raid event very soon. Scarlet will get Water/Dragon type “Walking Wake”, who quite resembles Suicune, while Violet will get Grass/Psychic type “Iron Leaves”.

Today’s showcase added that the latest gen will also support Pokémon Home sometime early this year. Pokémon Go will also connect with Scarlet and Violet, allowing players to trade postcards and Gimmighoul coins between them for unique rewards.

Lastly, today’s showcased closed with a tease for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. Part 1, titled “The Teal Mask”, is expected in Fall 2023, while part 2, “The Indigo Disk”, will roll out in the following Winter. They’ll explore beyond the Paldea region, and add the Blueberry Academy, featuring some classic Pokémon and some impressive originals.
