With its ‘Once in a Blue Moon’ update, Fallout 76 continues to expand the game world, offering new adventures for players. The update, featuring two new Cryptids, Public Events, Side Quests, rewards, and a Daily Ops Mutation, introduces several changes to improve the gaming experience.

The Blue Ridge Caravan is back, and it needs assistance with its growing business. This development leads to the creation of new Public Events. Vinny Costa, the Blue Ridge Caravan Company operations head, is frustrated with the caravan members for their lack of contribution. By supporting the caravan members, players can earn Blue Ridge Caravan-themed rewards.

The ‘Beasts of Burden’ event follows a botched trade deal, with Luca Costa needing assistance to retrieve his stolen Brahmin and cargo of makeshift explosives from a group of local Cultists. Guided via a two-way radio, players must infiltrate the Cultist’s den, deploy explosives, and reclaim Luca’s pack Brahmin. The player is urged to tread carefully to avoid disturbing the local wildlife due to recent strange happenings in the woods.

In ‘Safe and Sound,’ the Blue Ridge has refurbished the Middle Mountain Cabins into a Brahmin pitstop, but trouble arises from the local critters. To secure the pitstop for the Brahmin, players must clear the area of creatures and defend the Repeller Speaker system used to deter the creatures. The Blue Ridge Caravan offers substantial rewards for the assistance.

The Costa Business Daily Quests come from Vinny Costa, dissatisfied with his employee’s performance. In this series of seven quests, each completed task earns the player a unique Blue Ridge-themed reward. However, unlike other Daily Quests, players can complete this series only once.

Upon completion of all Costa Business quests, players who have finished content from Fallout 76’s history may find a special side quest. The new Cryptids, The Blue Devil and Ogua, are featured in two new Public Events. These creatures, based on West Virginian folklore, offer a challenging encounter.

New rewards are available for players who engage in these new Public Events and face off against the new Cryptids. The rewards include a variety of items, from Cryptid plushies to outfits, C.A.M.P. items, weapon skins, and more.

Fallout 76 also launches Season 13, titled ‘Shoot for the Stars,’ introducing Hollywood-themed items. With rewards like Jewelry Stands, movie projectors, pyrotechnics, and the Monster Costume, players can recreate the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

Alongside these additions, the ‘Once in a Blue Moon’ update presents several design changes and improvements. Gameplay adjustments include removing Fuel costs for Expeditions and providing detailed weapon and mod descriptions for a more player-centric build.

The Expeditions feature has been revised based on player feedback, leading to modifications in the Ultracite Battery Charge and Fuel Quests. Weapon and armor descriptions have also been overhauled for clarity. Players can view specific numerical changes in stats to better tailor their builds.

New game balance tweaks are included in the update, with adjustments to the Bleedout Syringer Barrel and the Two Shot Legendary Mod. Other design improvements feature adjustments to Contextual Ammo, an update to the PlayStation controller layout, and a new setting to enable and disable weapon muzzle flash effects.
