Sports games rarely get the respect they deserve, with the FIFA series being one of the more popular brands. After posting a teaser of the new logo for the EA Sports FC series in April, a French website claims to have figured out the release date for the next EA soccer title, with the game allegedly releasing on September 29, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
The news comes from French magazine DeaLabs, which states that the website was invited by a French publisher to learn about the game, which was apparently titled Ea Sports FC 24, reflecting the new logo and typical numbering system for EA sports titles.
The game is expected to release towards the tail end of September, with players who purchase the “Ultimate” edition allowed into the game a week early. Players who are subscribed to the EA subscription service will be allowed 10 hours to try out the game at no additional price when it launches.
EA and FIFA made news recently when it was announced that the partnership between the two brands would be ending. This means that EA had to drop the iconic FIFA branding late last year, rebranding its hugely profitable series under the EA Sports FC title. The EA Sports division has also split from the main gaming division, now called EA Entertainment in June of this year, further putting the brand in the news.
It’s unclear how this will affect the EA Sports series going forward, but how this next title performs will likely be telling for the brand.
