Today, as we get closer and closer to the eagerly awaited debut of Genshin Impact‘s version 2.7 “Hidden Dreams in the Depths”, HoYoverse took on HoYoLAB and revealed a full overview of the gameplay of the version’s main event ”Perilous Trail”. The event is set to debut together with the new version on May 31st, 2022, and is set to end on June 20, 2022.
A Summary of the Perilous Trail Event
According to HoYoverse, on their “Perilous Trail” Gameplay Details post on HoYoLAB, the event will be set on The Chasm, where players will be able to, as part of it, interact with a series of mysterious wooden boards, which will, in turn, allow then to access to one of the Realms of Guile and War, each set to feature a combat challenge.
There will be a total of 4 realms for players to challenge, with the fourth one only becoming available after the previous ones are completed. Players will also be able to face the challenges on different difficulties. It’s worth pointing out that completing a challenge in the highest difficulty will also unlock the rewards of the lower ones.
Realms of Guile and War: Objectives and Mechanics
In each Realm of Guile and War, players will be tasked with facing hordes of enemies in a series of rounds, each featuring selected objectives, or objectives. They will be able to face each round of the event with a party composed of up to 4 members, featuring both their own characters and a few handpicked trial ones. You will not be able to repeat your party after successfully completing one of the rounds.
After each round, players will also be able to equip their selected party with up to three Stratagems, set to offer handy buffs. A selection of 5 Stratagems will become available at random at the end of each round, but players will be able to use the points gained in the previous round to either redraw the buffs in the hopes of a more fitting selection or keep one of their previously selected Stratagems.
Perilous Trail Rewards
Players will be able to use the upcoming event’s currency to get the event’s exclusive weapon, the Fading Twilight bow, as well as Primogems, Mora, and Weapon Ascension Materials, among other goodies. As with all event weapons, you will be able to refine the weapon to its max level by expending the resources gained through the event. Apart from the upcoming event, Genshin Impact’s upcoming version 2.7 “Hidden Dreams in the Depths” is set to feature the debut of 5-Star Hydro Archer Yelan and 4-star Electro sword user Kuki Shinobu, as well as feature reruns for both 5-star Anemo Polearm Xiao, and 5-star Geo Claymore Arataki Itto.
