It’s been nearly three decades since the first debut of Pokémon, with the series expanding into multiple mediums, with gaming being at the forefront. Now, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company tend to make an event out of introducing new characters, with a new live-action trailer showing players a ghost-type tea Pokémon called Poltchagheist.
The story in the trailer tells of a master who was dedicated with making the perfect tea, forming an obsession over time. Eventually, this caused him to be alone until he passed, with his tea kettle remaining a treasured possession handed across generations. Eventually, it gained life and became the Pokémon we now know as Poltchagheist.
It seems that Poltchagheist will be a new Pokémon that’s added when the Scarlet and Violet DLC “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” is released on Sept. 13. That’s a little over three weeks away, so it makes sense that The Pokémon Company would be ramping up its marketing ahead of the full release. By launching early this morning, it’s also able to get in ahead of anything announced at Gamescom.
